Run Clever

The project

Training errors are well-documented risk factors in running. A specification of the different training variables influence on risk of injury is however unclear. Training volume and intensity are often mentioned as variables related to an increased risk of injury in runners, but these variables interact during every training and are therefore hard to differentiate between, when considering their independent influence on risk of injury.

Run Clever will investigate the difference in risk of injury associated to a focus on either running volume or intensity in recreational runners. Furthermore, the risk of sustaining specific injuries and the difference in risk depending on which training variable is progressed will be examined.
